LondonJigsaw is the 1st generation geographical jigsaw puzzle of the 33 London Boroughs, and
is a spin off from the FULL iPad version, and similar to the iPad FREE app.
The Puzzle explained.
The puzzle has 6 options, PLAY or LEARN Modes, Score ON or OFF and Sound ON or OFF.
In ‘LEARN’ mode, the player has boundary clues & the space lights up so that the Boroughs are
easily located, but the score is not activated.
In ‘PLAY’ mode, there are no clues as to where the boroughs are, and the player can choose if
they want the score running or not.
The SCORE means that the player is timed as they play the puzzle and there is the option on
completion of the puzzle to submit their time to the Games Centre. (Registration to the Game
Centre must be done as a one off before starting the game).
Within SOUND there are two options – ON or OFF. The player can choose to have the music
and the spoken labels independently on or off. The volume is controlled in the usual way,
through the iPhone’s volume control button.
The player can change his/her mind regarding the sounds from the puzzle’s two on screen
sound buttons on the top right corner. This avoids having to go back to the menu screen.
Features of the Puzzle;
• The device can be tilted and the pieces will reveal themselves by slowly moving following
the law of gravity.
• The ‘DISCOMBOBULATE’ (or MAKE or BREAK) button (top right of the screen) can be
used to i) redistribute the pieces evenly around the puzzle if ‘bunching’ occurs, or ii) to
‘Make’ the puzzle as a quick reminder as to where the pieces go, then if pressed again,
the puzzle will return to where the player left off, leaving the score running.
• The device can be shaken to discombobulate the pieces at any time.
• The bottom map can be moved independently to provide an all round view of the pieces
still to be placed, or to view the labels on a different colour background.
• The Borough pieces are spoken out loud (this can be turned off).
• The player must hear the ‘plonk’ sound of the piece going into it’s space to lock it in (if
music is switched off, this will not be heard).
• When the puzzle is completed, the distinctive ‘Triumphant’ sound will sound (if music is
switched off, this will not be heard).
Extra Features:
• Sound & Music (independently switched on or off by choice).
• Choose whether to link up to the Game Centre.
